　top 是名词，通常用单数形式，意为“顶部”。

1　be top of+名词 表示“是……最好的，为……尖子”。

Tom is top of the class. 汤姆是这个班上的尖子学生。

He is top of the team. 他是这个队上最好的队员。

2　the top 表示“最好的，顶尖的”，相当于the best。

Jack is the top student in the school. 杰克是这所学校中拔尖的学生。

She was the top in the high-jump. 她是跳高冠军。

3　on the top of 表示“在……的顶端”。

There is a house on the top of the hill. 山顶上有一所房子。
