1　show 用作动词，表示“出示，给……看”，可跟双宾语。结构为：

show sb.+sth.

show sth. to sb.

She showed me her new book. 她把她的新书给我看 。

She showed her new book to me.

类似结构的动词还有：give, send, pass, lend, write等。

2　show 用作动词，表示“带某人到……”。show sb. around 表示“带某人四处走走，领某人参观”，show sb. out表示“带某人出去”，show sb. into表示“带某人进去”，show sb. to the door表示“陪某人到门口”。

He showed them around in the city. 他领他们在城里参观。

She showed her friends out . 她领朋友们出去。

He showed us into the classroom. 他领我们进入教室。

She showed him to the door. 她送他到门口。

3　show 用作动词，表示“表明，说明，告知”。结构为：

show sb. the way to...:告诉某人去……的路

show sb.+ 疑问代词或疑问副词+不定式

show (sb.) + 从句

Could you show me the way to the station? 你能告诉我去车站的路吗？

I shall show you how to start the machine. 我要给你示范一下怎样开动这台机器。

He wanted to show that he didn't mind. 他想要表明他并不介意。

Please show me where your leg hurts. 请告诉我你的腿哪儿疼。

4　show 用作名词，表示“展出，展览”。“在展出”要说be on show 。

I have been to a flower show . 我去看花展了。

Her pictures are on show in Nanjing. 她的画正在南京展出。
