重阳后一日极目亭

After a fine rain it was growing cold last night;

小雨初回昨夜凉，

Chrysanthemums hasten to yellow by fenceside.

绕篱新菊已催黄。

The west wind sweeps the boundless blue sky far and wide.

碧空无际卷苍茫。

Wild geese flying far, far away are lost to sight;

千里断鸿供远目，

The sweet green grass unseen for ten years grieves my heart.

十年芳草挂愁肠。

Slowly I sing and with a cup of wine I part.

缓歌聊与送瑶觞。
