Thanksgiving day

今天我们讨论的话题是有关感恩节.

Thanksgiving is one of the major holidays of the year .Together with Christmas and the New Year , Thanksgiving is a part of the broader holiday season .

作为受欢迎的美国联邦政府节日，感恩节是一年中的主要节日之一。感恩节和新年、圣诞节一起，构成了更长的假期。

感恩节也被称为Turkey day(火鸡节)，放假4天。

1 . 感恩节的来源：

The "First Thanks giving” was celebrated" by the Pilgrims at Plymouth to give thanks to God for guiding them safely to the New World

第一个感恩节是登陆普利茅斯的清教徒为感谢上帝指引他们平安到达新大陆而庆祝的。

The first Thanksgiving feast lasted three days, providing enough food for 53 Pilgrims and 90 Native Americans .

第一次感恩节盛宴持续了3天，为53名清教徒和90名美洲印第安人提供了丰富的食物。

The New England colonists were accustomed to regularly celebrating “Thanksgivings" - days of prayer thanking God for blessings such as military victory or the end of a drought.

While feasts make Thanksgiving a festival for individual families， parades make it a carnival for the whole nation.various parades are held in many cities to honor Thanksgiving.

Like China's Spring Festival, preparing a big meal and bringing the family together at home is a long-standing tradition of the thanksgiving.

和中国的春节一样，准备大餐和举家团聚是感恩节的悠久传统。

Distances don’t really matter as relatives return home to be with their family, no matter how far away.

距离不是问题，无论多远，亲人们都会赶回家与家人团聚
