The FBI, telling people on board the Boeing 737 Max that lost a door plug mid-flight in January, they might be victims of a crime, in letters to some passengers, an FBI victim specialist says the case is under investigation.

A lawyer representing some passengers on the Alaska Airlines flight in a lawsuit against Boeing shared the letter, which does not name Boeing, with The Associated Press. The plane was flying over Oregon when the door plug blew out, leaving a gaping hole.
