转基因食品

转基因食品 （genetically modified foods, GMF）通常用来指利用最新分子生物学 （molecular biology）技术生产的、供人类或动物食用的农作物。通过将某些生物的基因转移到其他物种中去，转基因食品改造了作物的遗传物质 （genetic material），并且经过实验室的改进，使其在性状 （trait）、营养品质、消费品质等方面向人们所需要的目标转变。虽然转基因食品可有效地解决饥饿和营养问题，但是一些反对观点认为转基因食品对人体健康有害。转基因食品对人类的长期影响仍需要更多的研究。
