20多年来的现实生活给予我一个深刻的教训：不管是在我们的学习，工作还是生活中，要学会融入这些群体，学会和人打交道，学习、事业和生活才可能成功，孤军作战是失败的。那么在打交道的时候，就得具有合作的意识，具有团队的意识。哪怕顺着别人的拍子走，吃点亏也不要在乎。特别是当我们共同处于困难的境地时，就更需要具有合作的团队精神，同舟共济，共度难关。这时候，我们大家都会说这样一句话：“我们是同一条船上的人。”

今天我们就来看看这句话的意思在英文中如何表达。我们先来听下面的2个句子：
►If you lose your job I'll lose mine, so we are both in the same boat.
►We wage earners are all in the same boat during these hard days.
在我们刚才听到的2个例句中，我们都可以听到同一个词语：in the same boat。这是一条介词性习惯用语。习语中的same是“同样的”的意思，boat是指“船”。In the same boat字面意思就是“在同一条船上”，比喻为“in the same unpleasant situation as other people”的意思，译为“同样的不幸处境”“共患难”等等。刚才我们说了这是一条介词性习惯用语，当然是做方式状语，像我们常说的“同舟共济”就可以用到这个习语，即：cross a river in the same boat。要做谓语就要和系动词连用，即：to be in the same boat。
我们再通过四个例句来体会这个习语的意思和运用这个习语：
1.She's always complaining that she doesn't have enough money, but we're all in the same boat.

我们现在知道我们最初听到的2个例句的意思，现在我们就回到它们当中来看看它们的意思。
