[1]华尔特·司各特（Walter Scott，1771—1832），小说家、诗人。生于爱丁堡一个没落的贵族家庭。毕业于爱丁堡大学。做过律师。文学事业始于诗歌：1802年出版《苏格兰边区歌谣集》，此后又出版8部叙事诗。1814年起从事历史小说的创作，代表作有《艾凡赫》《罗伯·罗伊》等。
